"Before joining Global Course, I had got 295 in GRE. My friends told me that it was a decent score. Howeve, I want more. I knew that I score even 170 in Quant and needed to boost my score. Amar singh started giving me special attention as he knew that I was willing to work harder and wanted a better score at any cost. I studied maths and English under Amar Sir. Expert trainers of Global Course work on fundamental concepts of all the mathemathics topics of the new GRE. All maths topics, such as Permutations & Combinations (Combinatorics), Probability, Plain Geometry, Solid Geometry, Co-ordinate Geometry, Number System, Word Problems, Functions, etc. are discussed at length. We discuss short cuts and time saving techniques for all Quantitative Comparison, Problem Solving and Numeric Entry questions. We discuss and implement some short - cut methods to do hard GRE quant questions as well, including the Official Guides released by ETS. At Global Course, Gregaon West - Malad West, Mumbai, India, we monitor students’ progress through regular tests, evaluation and doubt solving. Gradually, we expose our students to higher difficulty level questions from various sources, such as Princeton’s Guide, Manhattan’s 5lb Practice Questions for The New GRE, Official Guides released by ETS, which conducts GRE, and some authentic online resources. Thus, we ensure best performance from our students in GRE group or individual coaching, online live or offline, regular course or exclusive crash course. Consequently, our students have been able to secure 170/ 170 in The New GRE Quantitative Reasoning Section.
Reading Comprehension remains a crucial part of The New GRE as well. Therefore, we start with a workshop, in which we discuss some rapid reading techniques, such as Skimming and Scanning. Further, we also discuss different types of question asked in GRE and the strategy to answer them accurately and within the stipulated time. Gradually, we take our students through questions of higher difficulty levels and give our students various timed sectional exercises from various sources to make them accustomed to the requirements of the new GRE conducted by ETS, thus, ensuring best possible performance from our students. As a result, many of our students have scored more than 160 in GRE Verbal and up to 335/ 340 in The New GRE.
A strong vocabulary also is very important to tackle the new GRE Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence questions. We discuss 5000 hot words for the new GRE keeping in mind their uses. At Global Course, our professors motivate our students to learn words from different sources, which is crucial to understand difficult words required for text completion questions. Different shades of the meanings of the words are discussed. We have developed some techniques to tackle TC and SE questions which we use to answer difficult questions in GRE. We give our students various timed exercises from different sources so that they are exposed to a variety of questions having higher difficulty level questions as well. For Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence questions, we also need to understand the secondary and tertiary meanings of the words. There are some techniques which we implement while doing tough Sentence questions including GRE Official Guides released by ETS.
Now the students have to write only one essay in The New GRE AWA section, i.e. Analysis of an Issue. We discuss a very high scoring template and practice some Issue questions in detail. The number of paragraphs and linking words within and across the paragraphs are very important to tackle The New GRE Analytical Writing Section. We discuss all and implement them to get a good score for you. Finally, the essays included in the mock tests are evaluated by our expert tutors and remedial measures are taken to ensure the best possible score. As a result, our students have scored up to 5.5/ 6 in The New GRE Analytical Writing Section.
Finally, our students are given minimum 10 full mock timed tests from various sources, including GRE Prep Tests by ETS, in the strict examination conditions. These tests are evaluated by our expert trainers, doubts are solved and other remedial measures are taken to ensure the best scores from our students. Thus, our students have secured up to 335/ 340 in the New GRE conducted by ETS.
We follow the above schedule to complete all the fundamental concepts in Quants, Verbal - Text Completion & Sentence Equivalence and AWA in the first 10 weeks. Thereafter, in the last 4 weeks, we do Sectional Tests and full mock tests from various sources. The tests are evaluated, reviewed, doubts are discussed and other remedial measures are taken to boost the scores.
7 Weeks, 4 times a week and 2 hours’ each session/
We follow the above schedule to complete all the fundamental concepts in Quants, Verbal - Text Completion & Sentence Equivalence and AWA in the first 5 weeks. Thereafter, in the last 2 weeks, we do Sectional Tests and full mock tests from various sources. The tests are evaluated, reviewed, doubts are discussed and other remedial measures are taken to boost the scores.
An exclusive schedule also can be prepared and executed as per the students’ requirements.
If you are planning to prepare for The GRE, the first thing you should do is brush up all the mathematics concepts studied in grades 9th and 10th. Also start reading some good newspaper editorials, magazines, novels, etc. to improve your reading power and vocabulary. Learn the different meanings of unfamiliar words you come across. Doing so will help you tackle the Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence questions effectively. Lastly, join a good GRE Prep Course. Do not join a big batch with 20 - 30 students for your GRE Prep. It helps you if the batch size is small i. e. 4 to 6 students. And meet the mentors before joining to check your comfort level. Good luck!

In The GRE Analytical Writing Section, candidates are required to attempt one timed tasks. They are asked to “Analyze an Issue”. For the “Analyze an Issue” task, the candidates are given to read an opinion on a topic of general interest and type a response to it. The time allotted for the task is 30 minutes. The GRE test takers are expected to…
The candidates are given two sections of Verbal Reasoning. They are required to answer a total of 27 questions in 41 minutes. The types of question are as follow:
Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence: Text Completion (TC) and Sentence Equivalence (SE) questions in GRE are designed to test the candidates’ understanding of complex words. They need to understand the whole context in which they are using the words. Thus, proper analysis of the given sentences becomes crucial. Text Completion questions are of three types, i.e. Single Blank Questions, Double Blank Questions and Triple Blank Questions. It is important to note that to get one mark in GRE, the candidate needs to answer all the parts of a question correctly. The Sentence Equivalence (SE) questions require candidates to fill in a single blank with two choices that create two coherent sentences that are logically similar in meaning. Hence, the test takers need to build very strong vocabulary to get a decent score in GRE Verbal Reasoning Section.
Reading Comprehension (RC): There will be 5 - 7 RC passages in The New GRE. These passages may from Natural Science, Humanities, Social Science, Business, etc. There will be approx. 14 multiple choice questions in The New GRE RC. The candidate has to select one or more options from the given choices. The types of question include:
You will be given the questions from almost 20 chapters studied in grades 9th and 10th. The difficulty levels of the questions may be higher, but the fundamental concepts are the same as of the high school mathematics. Also, no calculator is allowed in GRE Quantitative Reasoning Section.
You may get 4-6 Quantitative Comparison Questions in each of the GRE Quantitative Reasoning Section. Quantitative Comparison (QC) questions ask you to compare two quantities, i.e. Quantity A and Quantity B in the given conditions. You will be required to establish a relation between Quantity A and Quantity B. You will click on option…
The most common Problem Solving (PS) questions are standard multiple-choice questions, with three or more choices and one or more correct answer/s. These include questions that ask you to select one or more answers from a list of choices ‘Mark all-that-apply’ and questions that ask you to enter your answer in a box-Numeric Entry.
There are also a few questions associated with one or more line graphs, Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Tables, etc. These Data Interpretation (DI) questions are similar to other Problem Solving Questions, but it’s important to note that extracting the information correctly from the graphs is the key to answering the questions correctly.
Apart from one section of Analytical Writing, two sections of Verbal Reasoning and two sections of Quantitative Reasoning, GRE has an Experimental Section as well. This sixth section may be Quantitative Reasoning or Verbal Reasoning and it’s an unscored section. It is given to the candidates to check their response. Thus, the questions may or may not be included in the future GREs. It is important to note that whichever questions you get in the GRE, they might have been included in The Experimental Section in the past. Also, the candidates won’t be able to identify The Experimental Section. Hence, they should take all the sections equally seriously.

There are no specific GRE eligibility criteria as prescribed by ETS. Anyone with a valid passport can register for GRE, irrespective of age and qualifications. However, most of the candidates take GRE while they are pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree. And it is also advisable that a student should take GRE while he is in the second or the third year of his Bachelor’s Course.
No age limit is prescribed by ETS for candidates appearing for GRE. However, only the candidates who want to get admission in Post Graduate Programs in Management, Finance, Engineering, Law, Humanities, etc. take GRE. The students who want to do PhD also are required to take GRE.
ETS has not announced any official statement regarding the qualification required to appear for GRE. However, candidates are expected to have or pursuing a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Candidates should understand that the GRE test at home has not replaced the GRE at the test centre. The GRE at home has been introduced for the convenience of students who are looking to appear for the GRE from the safety and convenience of their homes. The GRE exam fee for both the GRE test at Home and GRE at the test centre is the same. The GRE Exam Fee is US $220 for Indian students. The basic difference is that while the GRE at Home is held online at your home, which is proctored and supervised by ETS, the GRE at the test centre is conducted at an ETS designated test centre.
Further, while the GRE test centre has a specific test schedule, the GRE at home can be taken as per the convenience of the student. However, candidates will have to make sure that they have the required system hardware and software to run the GRE smoothly and without any interruption. This, however, would not be a matter of concern for students taking the exam at a GRE test centre managed by ETS. And ETS make all such arrangements.
Nevertheless, a few students have been caught indulging in malpractices while taking the proctored GRE at home. Therefore, many colleges want the students to take GRE at an ETS designated test center. It has more credibility. Hence, after the COVID 19 pandemic, most of the students are take GRE at a test center.
Like any other international standardized exams, there are multiple GRE exam dates every year in India and across the world. The candidates can opt for any GRE date according to their convenience and availability. A candidate needs to register for GRE latest before two working days before the exam.
There are multiple ETS designated GRE test centers around the world. In India, GRE is conducted at over 20 cities having various GRE test centres. These centers are located in Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Gandhinagar, Gurgaon, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nashik, New Delhi, Nizamabad, Patna, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, Vadodara and Vijayawada. At all the above - mentioned test centers, only computer - based GRE is available. Paper - based GRE is not available in India. In fact, no one wants to take paper - based GRE. All the students want to take it on computer.
On completion of your GRE, you will get your Quants and Verbal Scores. Thus, you will know immediately that how much you scored out of 340. However, your official GRE General Test Scores Report will be available in your ETS account 8 - 10 days after your exam. You'll receive an email from ETS when they are available. ETS will also send an official Institution Score Report to the score recipients you designated on the test day.
ETS allows you to send your scores to up to four colleges of your choice without any additional fee. If you are taking the computer-delivered GRE exam, then you will be asked to select the score receivers at the test centre. After you complete the GRE test and view the unofficial Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning scores, you will be asked to choose the score recipients you wish to share your GRE exam scores with. If a college of your choice is not listed, ask the administrator at the test centre for a list of unlisted institutions. After the test, you can order Additional Score Reports for US $ 27 per college.
The GRE is a computer-adaptive test, or CAT for short. Every test taker will see at least two Quants. Sections and two Verbal Sections. The difficulty level of the second section (easy, medium or hard) in each subject is determined by your performance in the first section. If you get lots of questions right in the first section, you will get a harder second section, which results into higher scores. If you get fewer questions right in the first section, you will get an easier second section and your scores will remain lower. The computer-delivered GRE is the standard format for test takers. The paper-based GRE is far rarer and only offered up to three times a year.
