Digital SAT Maths… In - depth Concept Building

The Digital SAT has overhauled Reading and Writing Section. In contrast to the longer passages, now The Digital SAT has shorter passages. It has only one question per passage. Thus, strategy and techniques to tackle this section have become more crucial now. Hence, we discuss different types of question and the ways to answer those questions in detail. The Global Course Digital SAT Training Program also includes Hot SAT Words to tackle ‘Words in Context’ questions with ease. Further, we discuss 100 Advance Functional Grammar Rules for better understanding of questions based on 'Standard English Conventions' et al. Thus, our students have scored up to 760/ 800 in The Digital SAT so far.

How to Prepare for The The SAT

If you are planning to prepare for The SAT, the first thing you should do is brush up all the mathematics concepts studied in grades 9th and 10th. Study high school English grammar thoroughly. Also start reading some good newspaper editorials, magazines, novels, etc. Finally, join a good SAT Prep Course. Do not join a big batch with 20 - 30 students for your SAT Prep. It helps you if the batch size is small i. e. 4 to 6 students. And meet the mentors before joining to check your comfort level. Good luck!

SAT - Basic Information

SAT - Scholastic Assessment Test is conducted by College Board. It is a standardized test now conducted online throughout the world. Students applying to various undergraduate courses across the world take SAT. It is a world renowned examination required to be taken by the candidates desirous of taking admission to more than 12,500 bachelor programmes offered by more than 10,000 universities and institutions throughout the world. The test is conducted seven times every year. One can make all the seven attempts in a year. Nearly 2 million students take SAT across more than a hundred countries around the world

  1. Age Limit - College Board doesn't specify any age limits for the candidates to appear for SAT. However, the students in the age group of 16 - 18 years sit for SAT.
  2. Academic Qualification - No minimum qualification is required by College Board to take SAT. However, most of the candidates take SAT on the completion of their 10th grade. They while pursuing their 11th or 12th grade as they require the SAT scores to apply for their UG programs in various streams.
  3. Maximum No. of Attempts - There no cap on the number of attempts a student can take SAT. The test is being now conducted seven times in a year in India, i.e. in March, May, June, August, October, November and December. A candidate can sit for all the seven attempts in a year. However, it is advised that a candidate make two attempts at the most, at a gap of 2 - 3 months.

Reading & Writing Section SAT has a total of 54 questions, out which only 50 questions are scored and the remain 4 questions are Pretest Questions which are included for experimental purpose are not scored. Each question is based on a short passage, some notes, a table or a graph and has four answer choices, from which only one option is correct. This section is designed to evaluate candidates' ability to understand the meaning of different contexts and their associated terms with meaning and to comprehend written text and extract the required information from the graph given.

Types of Question in the SAT Reading & Writing

1. Craft and Structure
Candidates will be assessed for their comprehension, vocabulary, analysis, synthesis, and reasoning skills and knowledge to understand and use high - utility words and phrases in the given context. They would also be required to evaluate texts rhetorically and make logical connections between topically related texts.

2. Information & Ideas
Candidates will be required to use comprehension, analysis, reasoning skills, knowledge and the ability to locate, interpret, evaluate, and integrate information and ideas from the given texts and tables or graphs. The given graph may be a line graph, a bar graph, a pie chart, etc.

3. Standard English Conventions
Students will be expected to use editing skills and knowledge to make the given text conform to core conventions of Standard English sentence structure, usage, punctuation, etc. The skills tested are based on grammar studied in high school.

4. Expression of Ideas
Students will be required to use the ability to revise texts to improve the effectiveness of written expressions and to meet specific rhetorical goals in the presented scenario.
